01 Challenge
In 2020, Pink Trumpet was chosen to lead the strategy and program management for the implementation of Newark’s Guaranteed Income Pilot Program, a program that will provide unconditional cash payments to select Newark residents.
02 Action
From naming the program, to developing a communications plan for the launch, to creating all the content to raise awareness, we pulled out all the skills in our toolkit to build a program that will create more economic opportunities for Newark residents and have national implications for New Jersey’s
largest city.
03 Result
After six months, we designed and developed a website and launched the program to national success.
We produced a pre-launch explainer video and coordinated a virtual educational campaign to raise awareness about the program across the city of Newark.

We were hired by Nic.kl Inc., a tech startup based in Philadelphia, PA, to undertake an organizational analysis and determine their priorities as well as available resources in order to efficiently run the company’s internal processes.
02 Action
We carried out interviews with staff and performed a human resources audit to create recommendations for restructuring Nic.kl Inc.’s HR processes. We operationalized a strategy that matched the organization’s Human Resources needs and supported the company during its crucial startup phase.
03 Result
We developed a Human Resources (HR) manual and new onboarding processes for the company. We also set up their payroll and HR system through Gusto and helped the company choose a healthcare plan for its employees within their budget.
01 Challenge
The Rutgers Institute for Ethical Leadership wanted to help individuals who may not traditionally see themselves on nonprofit boards understand how to overcome the perceived barriers to joining nonprofit boards.
02 Action
We worked with the Institute to identify creative communications tools and a strategy to raise awareness about how individuals can join a nonprofit board.
03 Result
We developed two short videos that outlined the responsibilities of nonprofit board members and produced three infographics to explain board-related concepts. You can visit them here.
